Philosophy

One of the most important first steps in estate planning is finding that perfect attorney. Drafting your Will or updating an existing plan, many times, is accompanied by a great deal of stress. Working with your legal advisor should never add to your worries.

For twenty years I have been fortunate to grow my practice through kind referrals from existing clients and follow-up requests after my lectures. Truly the loveliest and highest compliment I can hope to receive.

Many of my clients initially came to see me with similar concerns as you might have. How do I find the right attorney for our family? How much do I need to know ahead of time? What is this going to cost? How long is it going to take? How do I change my documents in the future?

These are all excellent questions and are included among the other topics we will talk about in your initial appointment. You see, I believe knowledge, compassion and passion is the trifecta to a really great long-term attorney client relationship.

I spend lots of time on the education piece so you can understand how your legal documents work and really weigh in on the drafting, ensuring that your plan is as personalized, familiar and complete as possible. I listen, really listen, to both what you share verbally and during the times when it’s hard to put your questions into words. I appreciate it is a very difficult concept to even consider needing a Will and how daunting the questions I am asking might be to answer. But I am passionate about making sure it will be all right. I am passionate about devoting the time needed to make you feel comfortable, and I am passionate about making sure your family is protected.

Whether you need a simple review of your Will, a new power of attorney, a trust for your minor children or some recommendations about the Oregon tax, I can help.

Working with my clients is a privilege. Whether your children are in diapers or heading off to college, I look forward to helping your family now and as your family continues to grow.
